Do I have to be present during training?
Yes, your presence is essential. We require owners to be actively involved in the training process, not just for accountability, but because your consistency and engagement are key to lasting results. When owners are disconnected, it can lead to mixed signals for the dog and prevent the progress you’re investing in. Our goal is to set you and your dog up for long-term success, and that starts with teamwork from day one.
Where do sessions take place?
We meet you where your dog lives their life. Training sessions take place in and around your home in our service areas, as well as at nearby parks and real-life scenarios your dog encounters daily. No sterile classrooms or artificial setups, we train where it matters.
Do you work with aggressive or reactive dogs?
Yes. Many of our most successful clients were dogs other trainers turned away. Our lead behaviorist, Evan is experienced in managing aggression, reactivity, leash frustration, and trauma recovery. We work slowly, intentionally, and in a way that rebuilds trust, both between you and your dog, and between your dog and the world.
Mobile Grooming FAQs
Do you express anal glands during a groom?
Yes, on request. A groomer expresses the glands externally during the bath, which is the gentler of the two methods. Ask when you book so there is time set aside for it. If your dog is scooting, licking, or has a strong odor between grooms, mention it, because that can point to glands needing attention more often than a standard schedule allows.
What is a de-shedding treatment?
It is built for double-coated breeds like huskies, german shepherds and golden retrievers. The coat gets a de-shedding bath, then a high-velocity dry that blows the loose undercoat out before it ends up on your floors. It is not a shave. Double coats should not be shaved, because that undercoat insulates against heat as well as cold.
How often should I book grooming?
We recommend every 4-6 weeks depending on your dog’s coat and lifestyle. Consistent grooming keeps your dog healthy and helps us maintain their coat in peak condition. We’re happy to recommend a personalized schedule after our first session.
My dog gets nervous. Is this a good option?
Absolutely. Many the area pet parents choose us because their dog struggles with traditional salons. Our mobile spa is quiet, private, and designed to reduce stress, no barking dogs, no cages, no chaos. Just one familiar face and a peaceful environment.
Do you groom doodles and poodles?
Yes. Curly and wool coats need a different approach from a standard clip, so that service uses hand-scissoring around the face, paws and tail rather than clippers alone. That is what produces the rounded, fluffy finish most doodle owners are after. It starts at $155.
Do you service our service areas and the surrounding area?

My dog's coat is matted. Can you save it?
Sometimes. Light matting brushes and bathes out. Once mats are tight to the skin, working them out is painful and risks injuring the skin underneath, so the safe route is a short cut and a fresh start. A groomer will tell you which situation you are in before starting, not after. Booking sooner keeps that choice open.
What kind of products do you use?
We only use gentle, high-quality products that are safe for sensitive skin. Our shampoos and conditioners are sulfate-free, pH-balanced, and formulated specifically for dogs, no harsh chemicals, ever. If your dog has allergies or special needs, just let us know.
Do you tip mobile dog groomers?

How long does a mobile groom take?
Between 45 minutes and an hour and a half, depending on your dog's size. Small dogs sit at the shorter end, large and double-coated dogs at the longer. Everything happens in the van in your driveway, so there is no drop-off, no waiting room, and your dog is back inside as soon as it is finished rather than spending half a day at a salon.

Who qualifies for overnight boarding?
Overnight stays are exclusive to active Pup Scouts members. We require your dog to have an existing relationship with our team to ensure they’re comfortable, safe, and happy while you’re away.
My dog has anxiety, medical needs, or is reactive. Can they still board with you?
Yes. Because our team already knows your dog through walks or training, we’re able to provide specialized care that most sitters or kennels can’t. We’ll adjust everything to fit their unique needs.
What does a typical stay look like?
Every overnight includes walks, enrichment activities, downtime, and updates sent directly to you. Because it’s only offered to dogs already in our care, the experience is calm, predictable, and tailored.
Can you follow my dog’s exact routine?
Absolutely. We mirror your dog’s home routine, feeding, medications, crate training, bedtime rituals, so nothing feels unfamiliar or disruptive.
What if I want my dog to stay in our own home instead?
We offer in-home overnight care for Pup Scouts members. A trainer or walker your pup already knows will stay in your home in Orange County or nearby neighborhoods, keeping everything consistent, from walks to bedtime.
Can I meet the person who will be boarding my dog?
Yes. Our boarding services are reserved for families already working with our team, so chances are, your pup already knows and trusts their caregiver. Still, we’re happy to arrange a quick meet-and-greet to ease your mind.
